About Still Showing Up
Not every father disappears.
Some of us stay — even when the system, the situation, or the story says otherwise.
I’m Dave, a father of two, walking the quiet, complicated road of showing up after divorce.
This space is where I process that journey — for myself, for my kids, and for every father navigating the same uphill path.
Why I Built This
Still Showing Up Project was born out of necessity.
I needed a place to speak honestly about what it's like to parent when the odds, the system, and sometimes even the people around you make it harder than it needs to be.
This space is for:
Fathers who continue to show up quietly, without applause.
Children who might wonder someday if their father fought for them — the answer is yes.
Anyone who’s witnessed the quiet strength it takes to stay present: mothers, friends, or anyone willing to understand.
What This Is Not
This is not a place for blame.
It’s not a place for bitterness.
It’s not a platform for anger.
It’s a space for:
Truth.
Reflection.
Connection.
For My Kids
I built this for my children too.
One day, if they ever need it, they’ll find these words and know exactly where their father stood — and why he never stopped showing up.
A Word to Fathers (and Those Who See Them)
If you know the quiet fight — you're not alone.
If you’ve seen it happen — to a father, to a child, to yourself — you’re welcome here.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for listening. Thanks for showing up.
Say Hey!
Got something on your mind? A story to tell?
Or just want to say, “Hey, I see you”?
Awesome. I’m all ears.
